Snowflake and Pine Tree Double Weave Coverlet

450.00 750.00

This is a cotton and wool woven coverlet.  The center is a Snowflake pattern with a Pine Tree variant border which is self fringed.  There is some wear to the fringe.  The remainder of the coverlet is in excellent condition. I see two small spots of browning on the summer side.  They are shown in the photos. It dates to the first half of the 19th Century, probably 1800-1830.  Origin unknown but this pattern of double weave was often seen in New York State.  It measures 77 inches by 83 inches.
