French Bird Toile circa 1840-50

100.00

I love the birds and butterflies in this toile. I date it to circa 1840-50. I found it in the South of France. It was lightly quilted at some point in its life as you can see some stitching lines here and there. There is also a little bit of browning at the lower edge which I’ve shown in the photos. The selvage width is 32” and the length of this piece is 31 1/2”. The repeat is every 18” so this is almost two full repeats.
