Here is an absolutely gorgeous pillar print chintz circa 1825-30.  It clearly was part of a quilt at some point.  This panel measures 23" by 98" which is essentially 8 repeats of the print at 12" per repeat.  One half of the panel the color is rich and deep.  As it moves down to the lower half there comes some fading on the right side which I have tried to show in the last photograph.  Photo number four is a picture of the back side of the fabric which shows how deeply saturated it is.  It is a truly beautiful example.
