This listing is for two pieces of this delicious pillar print chintz. It dates to circa 1830. The smaller piece is 12” wide and 14” long. The second piece is 11” wide and 63” long. When this fabric was first printed its selvadge width would have been 23” with a pattern repeat every 14”. The owner of this cut the width in half. The design in the long panel has the right side of the repeat and the smaller piece is one repeat of the design for the left side. I have lined up the 2 pieces to help you see the full repeat the best I can. There are stitching holes around the larger pink flowers and some of the blue leaves which indicate that it was either part of a quilt or curtain. The color palette is wonderful and rich. A fabulous example to add to your collection!
