Here I am offering a beautiful piece of French Upholstery fabric. It is very sturdy with almost the feeling of canvas. I have 2 identical pieces which I am selling separately. I believe they might have been perhaps pillows that were taken apart as you can see a machine stitch line along one side. They each measure 25 inches wide and 20 inches in length. I have not had these long enough to find out much about the maker of this fabric. I believe it to be French circa 1840-60. It is a very romantic scene with the central figures enjoying their serenade. They are surrounded by floral swags and at the bottom are two doves in one of the small circles. The ground is a rich chocolate brown. I have included a photo of the back and of the two pieces together. These close ups are of the top piece. I can send photographs of the second piece if you are interested in both. Overall the condition is quite good.
