Crazy Quilt Brown Velvet Border

795.00

Here is a crazy quilt circa 1890.  It is constructed of 11.5" blocks with a 3.5" brown velvet border.   I absolutely love what they did with the fans in the corners.  The embroidery in this quilt is truly amazing.  There is significan shredding which should be visible in the photos.  The great part of so much embroidery is that this quilt is still incredibly striking.  It measure 63" x 65".  It is backed with a heavy fabric that has a canvas feel to it.  I'm assuming this was put on later.  It is sleeved so that it could be hung which I think is exactly what should be done with this quilt.  It should be admired for the fine work of art that it is.
