African American Quilt - *SOLD*

This quilt made in the 1880's-90's reminds us of the quilt we saw at the Gee's Bend Exhibit. It is such a striking piece of folk art. And we have its provenance, including photographs from the family, to authenticate its origin. The back of the quilt is muslin and it is self-bound. The quilting measures about 6 stitches per inch. The center square is damaged as can clearly be seen in the photo.
